Occupational Health and Safety
Physiotherapy has an integral role in the workplace, helping to reduce workplace injuries and protecting both workers and employers from the frustrating reality of worker’s compensation and reduced productivity. Hurting yourself at work is no laughing matter and anything that can be done to ensure your or your workers future careers are not compromised by an injury is a worthwhile investment.
Being fit for work and having a workplace that is as risk-free as possible are vital components of successful long-term employment relationships. Physiotherapy has an important role to play in ensuring the employee is a good fit for the position with pre-employment musculoskeletal assessments and functional capacity evaluations. These are evaluations used to determine if a prospective or returning employee is safely able to perform the duties required for the position.
These assessments can be performed at the request of the employee prior to commencing employment or they may be used following an injury to determine if an employee is ready to go back to work.
For those who have suffered an injury at work, our therapists are on hand to help you get the most out of your rehabilitation and you back to work as quickly as possible. We can work closely with you and your employer to help you safely integrate back into the working environment, while ensuring your body is able to function as well as possible.
Our physiotherapists are also able to provide an assessment of your workplace providing office-based workstation assessments and ergonomic workplace site visits. We can assess your workplace for any potential risks and we can ensure that all workstations are set up to be optimum for each employee’s body height and dimensions. This has been shown to be effective for preventing injuries, particularly overuse and chronic injuries.
Addlife Health physiotherapists are able to provide the following assessments:
